Robert's Testimony
I grew up in small town in North Central Ohio. I was extremely blessed to be born into a first generation Christian home. I attended small Bible believing churches as a child and was able to hear the Gospel my entire life. I was told from as early as I can remember that I was an answer to prayer and God had me here on this earth to serve the Lord.
Even though I heard the Gospel and I was told I was created to serve the Lord, I didn’t get saved until I was 14 years old. When I was told that my righteousness was as filthy rags, in my heart I knew that I was on my way to hell and put my faith and trust in Jesus Christ and His work alone.
Kelli's Testimony
My parents started attending a Baptist church when I was 7 years old, which is where I first heard the Gospel. They were faithful to have us in church anytime the doors where open for service. I spent 10 years of hearing the Gospel time and time again, but ultimately ignoring or rejecting it. When I was 17, the preacher preached out of Galatians 5 on the Fruit of the Spirit. The Holy Spirit used that sermon to convict me of my sin and show me what I lacked. I came forward to the altar after the service and asked the Lord to save me. A few weeks later, I was baptized.
I was a senior in high school when I accepted God’s gift of salvation. As I considered what I would do with my life after graduation, I could not help but think about the 10 years of merciful kindness the Lord showed me. I spent 10 years hearing the Gospel and rejecting the Gospel. I did not deserve such graciousness. I told the Lord that I would be willing to serve Him however He wanted me. I went to Bob Jones University and tried to get to the mission field as a single missionary. After graduating and attempting to finish deputation I decided to further my training at a missions training program where I met my husband. The Lord provided opportunities for me to learn about missions and the Bible. He brought Robert and I together, and we have worked together in ministry for all of our married life. I have had a desire to do missions work for almost as long as I have been saved. I am grateful for the opportunity God has allowed Robert and I to do missions work in the villages of Africa.
Ministry Experience
For over a decade, from 2009 to 2020, I devoted myself to full-time ministry in the church. I served as an Assistant Pastor. During this period, I had the incredible opportunity to serve as the Director of a missions training program from 2011 to 2022. It was a role that involved guiding and supporting young men as they trained to become missionaries in the foreign field. My job in administration, teaching, and discipleship was definitely a time that grew my faith and personal walk with the Lord.
In 2020, my journey in ministry took a new direction as I stepped into the role of a missionary representative for the continent of Africa. This experience allowed me to connect with missionaries and national pastors globally. Many young men surrendered to take the gospel to this needy continent with God leading me that time. Then, in 2023, I embarked on a new chapter by starting Taking the Light, my desire to play another part in getting the Gospel to the world. My goal is to use all these past experiences that God has given me to help MEN, by using MEDIA and MATERIALS to see the world reached with the Gospel in this generation.
